Why the heated room?
The temperature of the yogaroom is similar to our body's own temperature. This accelerates improvement in many of the benefits of the yoga practice. The cardiovascular system gets a thorough workout. Muscles, fascia and connective tissue become more elastic allowing for greater flexibility with less chance of injury.
The sweating promotes detoxification and the nervous system function is greatly improved so messages are carried more efficiently to and from the brain. You benefit from a strengthening of willpower, concentration and determination in this challenging environment.
Yoga is for every body. The Bikram sequence of 26 postures (Asana) and two breathing exercises (Pranayama) are basic movements of Hatha Yoga and will give you benefit even if you can only do them partially. Everybody can participate regardless of age, gender, fitness level, flexibility or body type.
